Brooke Baldwin Leaves CNN and Plays the Victim of Sexism

Brooke Baldwin CNN Anchor

CNN is making a number of changes in their line-up.  It is probably due to the relatively poor ratings that the inexplicably self-described “most watched” news channel has been suffering.  The most significant change is moving “CNN New Day” co-host Alisyn Camerota into the afternoon replacement for departing Brooke Baldwin.

Baldwin’s departure is one of those “who do you believe” situations.  Was she fired?  Did she quit?  Did she quit under pressure (fired)?  We may never know – and probably should not care.

What can be said is that Baldwin is not a happy camper.  She has donned the garb of victim – the victim of sexism to be specific.  With a net worth of more than $10 million, we should view it at least as qualified victimhood.  In fact, it is hard to imagine anyone with her bankroll, her fame, and her future employment prospects as a victim.  She is – by definition – a BIG winner. You know, the kind who should NOT be complaining.

So, why is she complaining?  Ah!  It’s to sell a book … a feminist book … a left-wing feminist book.  It is called “Huddle: How Women Unlock Their Collective Power.”

In the book, Baldwin  “… explores the phenomenon of what she calls the ‘huddle,’ when women get together—in politics, Hollywood, activism, the arts, sports, and everyday friendships—to provide each other support, empowerment, inspiration, and the strength to solve problems or enact meaningful change.”  If you recognize that as similar to the promos for virtually every left-wing feminist book since Betty Friedan penned “The Feminine Mystique” in 1963, you are very observant – and very old.

The promotional fuel for the book is what Baldwin proclaimed on her way out the door.  She is the victim … more emphasis, VICTIM … of sexism in the workplace.

No, she did not have her crotch grabbed by some Neanderthal executive.  She was not sexually intimidated by some late-night CNN host.  Oh, that was his brother.  It is just that White men ruled the roost, she contends.   Really?  Has Baldwin checked out the total CNN line-up? White guys are in the minority.

If White guys have been in control in the backroom, they have been pretty damn good to the women folk.  Virtually all those ladies you see on the small screen are millionaires.  One can only imagine how rich Baldwin would be – or thinks she should be – were she not held down (in the figurative sense) by male superiors.

As far as her CNN program’s content is concerned, Baldwin is just one of the fungible CNN personalities.  That time slot will not improve or worsen with the arrival of Camerota – just as nothing changed when Cuomo left the morning gig to move up to prime time.  The only departure from the CNN’s scripted political narratives is the occasionally objective Michael Smerconish, who is safely buried in an early Saturday morning time slot.

And what about Camerota’s replacement in the morning.  It will be the strident, biased and hopelessly partisan Brianna Keiler.  No big change.

Baldwin is counting on accusatory feminism as a strong selling point on the #MeToo circuit.   And she is probably correct.  I would have said “probably right,” but I did not want anyone to get the wrong impression about her ideology.

Baldwin is already a star on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” where co-host Mika Brzezinski has given more airtime to the CNN expat than to President Biden’s statements from the White House bunker.  Brzezinski has promised to include Baldwin in the former’s “know your value” feminist road show.  At $10 million and counting, I suspect Baldwin is well aware of her value.

You can rest assured that we have not seen the last of Brooke Baldwin – and that is a pity.

So, there ‘tis.

If you want to see “strident, biased and hopelessly partisan” tune into “Outnumbered” with newly anointed “journalist” Kayleigh McEnany.

If you are a honest caring person staying with the CNN with their fake news is horrible
