Thousands packed the streets in Chicago for an unofficial gay pride march despite Mayor Lori Lightfoot, the first openly gay mayor, canceling the official annual event because of her worries over the coronavirus.
Organizers insisted that the rally held in the city’s West Side Lakeview neighborhood was an attempt to “reclaim” the “grassroots” efforts to push gay pride, according to ABC 7.
The gay pride parade has roots in the Windy City going back to 1972 and has taken place in the Boystown area of the city until this year, when it was canceled over the coronavirus. But the cancellation did not deter avid pride marchers, who began gathering at noon on Sunday near the CTA Belmont station in the Lakeview neighborhood.
Hundreds flocked to the march flogged by social media posts until thousands were massed in close proximity for a two-mile demonstration into Uptown.
“The reason the march is so important is to highlight those lives that we lost and highlight the people whose lives may not have been lost, but have been wrecked just because they exist openly,” Ashabi Owagboriaye told ABC 7.
Organizers tried to tell marchers that masks were required in compliance with the city’s coronavirus rules.
But many photos posted to social media by pride enthusiasts showed large numbers of people without masks, in contradiction to the coronavirus response orders issued by Lightfoot.
Did they march in the nigger war zone in Chicago?
They wanted it in this country and they, through their actions, will reap their reward.

OK let’s see how this Mayor handles these law breakers, stop them and she is just hypocritical, don’t challenge or stop them, then she is just hypocritical as well because these marchers just dismissed, and disrespected her orders.. Why weren’t these people arrested for violating an order.? If it had been Christians marching they would have been arrested on the spot.
I will say with certainty, there were Christians marching in that parade. They serve the same God many others serve, regardless of what organization they affiliated themselves with. God’s is the only judgement we face that counts. Man’s judgement changes quickly and sometimes doesn’t line up with the beliefs of others. God doesn’t rule by fear driven anger. God is exhaled through LOVE! No matter what man writes, history Proves that all conflicts are fear driven. All history is recorded by man and biased due to many reasons. Most writings are written in accordance of the norms of the time they were written. God gave all humans free will, we believe this. Organized religion tries to put God in a box. Its time for people to start over, think what they are doing, saying, teaching any how they are acting, it’s time we loved each other just because we have that right! It’s time to celebrate our uniqueness and know a part of God lives within each of us.
If a Christian orgination did this the riot people would be after them and police.
